Marian’s story

Copts In Need supports the journey of many of the deprived Coptic Community living in Upper Egypt. Our main initiative is to build new homes for people who are living in poor living conditions and are struggling to get by.

One of the stories is that of Marian a lady who lived in Upper Egypt. Marian was an 80 year old woman living alone following the sad passing of her husband. Marian had 2 main issues with her house which destroyed her quality of living.

  1. She had a staircase which was broken and unsteady it made it very difficult for her to move round the house and left her susceptible to falls. She always felt in danger and unable to mobilise freely. This made Marian sad as she could not afford to get it fixed or change it.
  2. Marian had a roof which leaked huge amounts and this made her very fearful for two reasons. One that the water would ruin her belongings and make the house damp. As well as the fear that eventually the water would be too much for the damaged roof and there would be a massive hole in the house

Copts In Need visited her and saw the difficulties Marian was having. They were able to build her a new home with good living standards. This new home hugely improved the life of a very vulnerable person and improved their quality of life.

We at Copts In Need require your support so that we can continue helping people like Marian, please donate now and help us in our mission.
